News From June
Treasury Report
I do want to stress this fact : :  We are not a "Fund Raising" Club! We are a Riding Club!
As Officer's of the Chapter: all we want from our membership, is your Fellowship on the Open Highways.
I think it's great that we, as a Chapter, can do something great for the Kids of St Jude.
Our Primary Focus is always Riding and Fellowship!
As of
July 1st: We have $303.20 in the Treasury.
We've been blessed with assistance from outside the Chapter.

June Wrap Up:
June was a pretty eventful month.
The State Rally went very well. All totaled we managed to raise $14,000 for St Jude, at this event! Folks, that's almost a
$6,000 increase from the previous year! What can be said? We've got an awesome bunch of people, who knows how to
throw a party and support a great cause!
The
Father's Day Ride to Camp Discovery went well. It was great to see the SCRC support, again for this event.
My hat's off to the folks with the Riders of the Wind who have hosted this ride for several years, now.
It's a pleasure and a blessing for the opportunity to participate.
Sid's Cook Out / Business Meeting
First I want to Thank the Folks who showed up. Sid always does a fantastic job, seeing that we have great eats.
This time was no exception. I must say I was a little disappointed at the turn out. Usually, when we have cook-out at
Sid's, we turn up a lot more folks. I've really been missing some of our senior members at our events, of late.
We did get to welcome Bill and Gail Beuerlein from Cookeville, who recently joined.
It's always a pleasure to meet new members. I look forward to the opportunity to ride with you all.
Business Meetings are Important. We only have 4 a year.
The Next will be Sept 28th Sunday at 4pm. Location to be determined.
Swap Meet at Oma's
All said and done we managed to raise $70 for the Chapter.
The event went pretty well, excluding the torrential down-pour we got in the late afternoon.
We managed to make some new friends and kicked a little business towards Oma's.
Again, I can't say enough kind things about the folks who run Oma's Roadhaus.
I look forward to doing more events with them.

On The Calendar:
(besides our 'regular' rides..the things listed here, are things I'd like to see total Group participation on)

::Sept. 6th SCRC benefit for injured member Greg Lafever::
This is still in the works. It will be held at Oma's Roadhaus.
There will be a Dice Run, Swap Meet, Food, Music, all the thing that make for a Great Event!!
Greg is, and has been, a very dear friend of mine for many years.
Sept 2nd, 2006 his riding career came to an abrupt end, when an 84 y/o woman decided she wanted his lane of
traffic and ran him over! Greg suffered a spinal cord injury that has left him confined to a wheelchair.
Recovery has been a slow process for Greg, yet he remains optimistic.
This Benefit is Long Over Due!
I didn't want to do this with out Greg's blessing.
I spoke with him and he is OK with the idea of a benefit in his honor.
There will be more details, as they develop.
Please keep him in your prayers.
